Leicestershire cricket captain and England crickiter Matthew Hoggard has become the first patron of a childerns charity that was set up by the parents of a young boy who died of cancer. It was announced that in under 3 years the charity has raised over £200,000.

In early 2009 the 8 year old son of Kathrine and Jamie Staples fell ill, the parents then registered the trust as a chairty in his memory after his death in December 2009.
